RVDA’s Board of Directors recently revised the association’s strategic goals. The revised goals, which are a key part of the RVDA strategic plan, are:
- 1. We will protect our dealer members’ ability to conduct business profitably.
- 2. We will develop and provide solutions to help dealer members survive and thrive.
- 3. We will increase the percent of discretionary income spent on the purchases of RVs, products, and services through dealers.

“We feel these goals more clearly reflect RVDA’s mission to help its dealer members, especially in the current business environment,” said RVDA Chairman of the Board Jeff Pastore of Hartville RV Center in Hartville, OH. “ Some of the strategies the Board of Directors will use to reach these goals in the coming year include, but are not limited to:
- Forming new Brand Committees – these are dealer-manufacturer meetings to discuss issues of mutual interest.
- Working with industry partners to implement recommendations of the Go RVing Coalition’s Committee on Excellence Task Forces.
- Working to get more dealers and their employees to attend the 2008 RV Dealers International Convention/Expo, Sept. 23-26, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
- Increase participation in RV Learning Center education and certification programs.
RVDA’s Board of Delegates, which includes participation from more than 50 dealers from across the country, will also work on specific strategies to achieve the association’s goals during their meeting on April 1-2 in the Washington, D.C., area.
