Carrier Adds Ducted Ceiling Model
to its AirV™ RVAC Line
Designed for maximum cooling capacity, efficiency and
reliability, Carrier's AirV is available as a drop-in replacement for older air
conditioning
units or an existing air vent, and their new ducted models both deliver 13,500 Btuh of
cooling capacity. A 5,600 Btuh electric heating option is available for
cooler climates.

The new ducted system features a wireless universal
remote that can be removed from its wall mount and used throughout the RVs cabin. The
user-friendly device has easy-to-read controls with operating instructions conveniently
located on its wall-mounted bracket. Operated by an infrared light source, the control
system has on/off timer and dehumidifier functions, and can control multiple AirV units as
well as the vehicle
furnace. Supplemental control switches on the ducted
cooling unit can be used if the remote is misplaced. A diagnostic LED display is provided
for fast, accurate operator-level system troubleshooting.
The free blow ceiling air distribution model has a
unique, automatic "air sweep" feature that rotates to move air evenly throughout
the RV cabin. For those who may occasionally need an instant "cold air shower" a
louver is provided to discharge cooled air directly downward from the ceiling unit.
AirV systems feature high-strength, lightweight polymer
construction that won't rust or discolor. One hundred percent copper coils, a Carrier
compressor, a powder-paint coated base pan, and an enclosed fan and blower motor resist
corrosion. An exclusive "slinger" wheel design recycles condensation back onto
the condenser coil, which extends system life and reduces the risk of water run-off
streaks on the sides of the RV.

Goodyear Offers its 1st
Ever Radial Tire Specifically Designed for RVs
The new G670 RV tire, through its dual foundation belt
system and its specially tailored non-skid tread, offers improved handling, stability and
ride comfort. In addition, it is designed to improve fuel economy and provide the option
of retreadability, resulting in long-term satisfaction and savings for the RV owner,
according to Goodyear's Jeff Row.
The key to ride comfort is the dual foundation belt in
the tire's four-belt package, giving the tire greater flexibility. At the same time, its
13-5/32" non-skid tread and a tread design that puts more rubber on the road provide
outstanding treadwear, durability and traction on wet surfaces.
In addition, the specialized rubber compounds used in the
tire have been shown through Goodyear's ozone testing to withstand long-term sidewall
weathering, which is crucial particularly to RV owners who leave their vehicles parked
outdoors for extended periods of time.
The tire is appropriate for most Class A units including
campers, 5th wheel and full chassis RVs.
Initially, the tire will be offered in one size,
245/70R19.5. A second size, 225/70R19.5, will be produced later in the year.
Both tires are rated Load Range F.
Plastic Welding Tool
Kit
A new all-purpose plastic welding tool kit for repairing
automotive, RV, truck bumpers, fenders, interior parts and other thermoplastic porducts is
now available from the Malcom Co.
The Malcom Plastic Welding Kit includes
everything necessary for making professional quality thermoplastic repairs. Featuring an
electric heat gun, seven specialized nozzles, and a 1 lb. supply of plastic rod (user
specifies the type of plastic), the kit contains an instruction handbook and tools for
making a variety of different types of repairs.
Available with polypropylene, polyethylene, PP-EPDM, and
other plastic rods, the kit can be supplied with a choice of three heat guns ranging from
an 1800 watt gun with dial-selectable heat from 200° F to 1000° F and 2-step adjustable
air, to a 2300 watt gun with 11 programable functions infinitely adjustable from 175° F
to 1200° F and 21 CFM.
