Australian Family 6 month RV Rental Adventure

Los Angeles, CA --David Nelson and Kirsten Swick and their three children Eleanor, Jacqui, and Stephanie will be seeing more of the U.S. this year on their vacation than most Americans see in their lifetime. The Australian family from Perth rented a motorhome from El Monte RV and left the companies’ Los Angeles location on April 25th. They won’t be returning until October 10th. Their plans start with visiting a variety of sites including national and state parks on the west coast, Las Vegas, then across the southern U.S. to Florida. From Florida the family will then travel up the east coast of the United States to end up in Montreal, Canada. Following Montreal they will then be visiting sites throughout the mid-west. After all this they will travel across the northern U.S. and then return back to Los Angeles to return the vehicle.

The couple, who will start the trip travelling with little one year old Stephanie, told us they expect New York City, Mt. Rushmore, and the National Parks to be highlights of the vacation. Eleanor, 10, and Jacqi, 8, will soon join mom, dad, and little sister in Las Vegas.

This is the family’s first RV rental trip and they are excited to explore the possibilities. David, who spends a great deal of time sailing and is used to the tight quarters involved, said he thinks the family will enjoy spending time together and appreciate that the vehicle doesn’t rock while its stationary.

The couple pointed to the favorable exchange rate between U.S. and Australian currencies as one of the primary motivators in their decision to make the trip at this time. “It is much less expensive than it used to be.” Said Kirsten.

“Normally when we come to the U.S. we fly from city to city or drive around,” said David, when discussing the trip. “We wanted to experience as much of America as possible.”

When asked what recommendations they had for others that might want to plan a similar trip, Kirsten replied, “Allow sufficient time for proper planning and preparation. You should give yourself at least 3-4 months to plan your route, camp sites, destinations, etc.”

Bates Provides Business Opportunities to RV Owners

RV owners can put their recreational vehicles to good use rather than let them sit idle; they can now utilize their RVs as an income center with Bates International Motor Home Rental Systems, Inc. Individuals can build a small business and offset the cost of RV ownership by listing their RVs through Bates' RV Management Program.

Bates' RV Management Program is a method of "Income Sharing" where the RV owner lists their RV with Bates for rentals, then enjoys the benefits. The result is the ability to earn income, enjoy tax planning advantages of vehicle depreciation as well as business expense "write-offs."

RV owners could be sitting on a gold mine. Since Bates uses a large variety of RVs in its fleets, most types of RVs are eligible for the RV Management Program. Plush Class "A" diesel pushers to small Class "C" (cabover) styles all qualify. The primary prerequisite is that the RV be within three years of current dates. Bates RV Management program offers the highest level of service at each step of the client's relationship with Bates.

International RV Fly/Drive Travel is a multi-billion-dollar business. RV rentals continue to grow each year regardless of the economic cycle. This means that there is a steady increase in the need for RVs each year.

Bates RV rental management techniques have been tried and tested for more than 30 years. As the first RV rental franchise in the world, Bates extends quality service throughout its network of franchise locations in selected cities in the United States and Canada. Bates provides personalized attention to its customers and RV fleet. The favorable experiences of its customers reach far beyond the company and its franchise locations. Bates strives to always provide a higher quality of travel service to give its clientele safer, healthier, more pleasurable travel experiences.

RV Rentals an Alternative to Airline Add-On Fees

RVs eliminate airline passenger fees for luggage, fuel surcharges, meals and in-flight entertainment, while helping travelers avoid interminable flight delays and airport gridlock.

With an RV, travelers don’t have to pay for in-flight meals, snacks, baggage or extra legroom. They can bring whatever they want onboard an RV, from champagne to shampoo, to their own movies and favorite pet. And there’s plenty of storage space for hauling souvenirs and toys.

“Travelers leave all the hassles behind when they go by RV,” says Richard Coon, president of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association. “What they don’t leave behind are all the comforts of home.”

With fully equipped kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms and baths, RV travelers enjoy all the familiar amenities while on the road. They can bring their own sheets, pillows and even cook a gourmet meal onboard.

Affordability is another big advantage of RV rentals. Costs vary depending on the season and size of the unit, and range from $100-$250 per day. RV rentals can sleep as many as six people comfortably.

Even in a down economy, RV rentals remain popular. For example, El Monte RV and Cruise America, two of the world’s largest RV rental agencies, are reporting strong bookings throughout the summer.

“In this economy, the affordability of RV vacations is especially attractive whether you rent or own,” says. Coon. “And there’s never been a better time to buy.”

The largest rental companies, Cruise America (www.CruiseAmerica.com) and El Monte RV (www.ElMonteRV.com), Bates Motorhome Rentals (www.batesintl.com)have outlets throughout the United States. In addition, many local RV dealers (www.rvra.com) maintain rental fleets.
