The RVTI’s mission is to train as many technicians as possible and help reduce repair event cycle time (RECT) at RV dealerships and repair centers across the country.

Partners in the RVTI Level 1 training program are Camping World Technical Institute and the Windham School District in Texas. Both are scheduled to attend the RVTI grand opening on Sept. 23.

RVTI’s curriculum is based on a hub-and-spoke model and involves regional partners across the country trained in the institute’s program and qualified to themselves train technicians for certification that meets RVTI standards.

Camping World Technical Institute is in the process of revamping its existing training program. Camping World has trained more than 500 technicians in its apprentice course. As a licensed partner with RVTI, Camping World will be able to offer its tech the RVDA/RVIA Registered Technician exam in preparation for transfer of their CWTI credential to the RVTI Level 1 certification.

Windham School District in Texas is a correctional facility that provides educational programs for non-violent offenders. The workforce development program provides training for in-demand career skills that are useful when their sentences are completed.

The grand opening of RVTI’s state-of-the-art facility during Open House will showcase its training programs for all levels of expertise. Training includes classroom sessions and learning labs where students will learn to test, troubleshoot, inspect and repair RV components and assemblies in real time.

Development of training for Level 2 certification is nearing completion, RVTI says. Once finalized, the institute will work with licensed partners to develop training and certification at their locations.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the RVTI’s grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m., followed by an open house. Tours of the facility will be conducted each day of Open House.

An RVTI tour registration form is available here.
