A group of RV rental dealers, originally formed three years ago to improve dealer opportunities and the rental experience for domestic and international customers, has expanded to more than 22 participating locations offering a rental fleet of 850 units.
The RV Rental Dealers is looking to further expand and “share best practices, participate in a buyer program and take advantage of discounts,” RVRD Managing Director Scott Jones says. Jones is Co-owner of Access RV Scott Jones in Salt Lake City.
“With the emerging P2P (peer-to-peer) rental market with apps such as RVShare and Outdoorsy, RVRD members are seeing a sharp increase in last minute reservations because the private RV they had reserved is suddenly not available,” Jones says.
“Rental customers are realizing the importance of working with an established rental operator that can supply a well-maintained RV for their special vacation,” he adds.
The rental organization provides members with 20 Group benefits, including regular online discussions, industry reports that identify early market trends, best ideas sharing and techniques to increase profits. Ongoing peer mentoring with experienced leaders in the RV rental business can “accelerate business growth and profitability,” Jones says.
Topping the list of benefits is participation in the new RoamAWAY.com online rental application. Directing potential rental customers to RVRD members who meet the highest standards, the RoamAWAY app provides access to “the best local rental dealers with the benefits of national support and integrity,” he says.
The rental dealers group hold an annual member conference this year Dec. 10-11 Charlotte, N.C. The event will include presentations manufacturers and service providers.
