An arrest warrant issued yesterday for Travel Lite President Dustin Johns was closed when Johns made a personal appearance at Kosciusko County, Ind., Sheriff’s office and posted bond, according to a local news report.
The warrant was issued when the county received results of a blood alcohol test from Johns after a one-vehicle accident Aug. 10 in Syracuse, Ind.
A police report on the accident indicated that Johns complained of abdominal pain after he was extricated from his vehicle following the early-morning accident.
On Thursday, Johns told RV News that he checked-in with the county sheriff’s office on Wednesday, posted bond and was released. A sheriff’s office spokesman did not respond to our request for further information.
Earlier Wednesday, Johns told RV News that he worked with company leadership during a quiet period in August to reevaluate Travel Lite’s company goals and restructure its operations following three years of rapid growth and a slowing sales this year.
Johns said that as of this week, Travel Lite has resumed normal operations, production at its new manufacturing facility in Syracuse would restart in October and the company would exhibit 18 units at Elkhart Open House in 10 days.
