RVs Move America Economic Impact Study was released June 3, 2019 at the RVIA annual meeting.

It revealed the RV industry has an overall economic impact on the US economy of $114 billion, supports nearly 600,000 jobs, with more than $32 billion in wages, and pays more than $12 billion in federal, state, and local taxes.

The announcement was made by Garry Enyart, RVIA chairman, and Onan/Cummins Director of Mobile Generator Sales & Coach Care.

Sprinter Hood Latch Concern Prompts Recall of 52,000 Vehicles

156409823133876.pngAn improperly tightened hood latch on Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter vans prompts a broad recall by Daimler Vans USA, according to the Monday morning notice by the National Transportation and Highway Safety Administration.

Daimler Vans is recalling certain 2018-19 Mercedces-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter vans. A screw connection on the upper hood catch may have been improperly tightened resulting possible hood opening while the vehicle is being driven.

The recall, according to NHTSA, involves some 52,000 vehicles.

Elsewhere, Forest River is recalling certain 2020 Cherokee trailers, models CKT16BF-D, CKT16BFH-D, CKT16GR-D. A protective panel may not have been installed around a distribution panel, allowing the panel wiring to be exposed in a storage compartment and possibly leading to damage to the panel and wiring.

Forest River is also recalling certain 2019-2020 Sabre trailers, models SRF261RK-C, SRF270RL-C and SRF301BH-C. A rotating pin box may come into contact with the 7-way junction box wiring and cause an electrical short.

Heartland Recreational Vehicles is recalling certain 2020 Milestone travel trailers. Wood backers used for bunk supports were not installed on the slide out bunk end walls during manufacturing, possibly allowing the upper bunk bed to fall.

Cruiser RV is recalling certain 2020 Southfork recreational trailers. Wood backers for bunk supports were not installed on the slide out bunk end walls during manufacturing, possibly allowing the upper bunk bed to fall.

Keystone RV is recalling certain 2020 Cougar fifth wheels and travel trailers, models 22RBS, 23MLS, 25RES, 26RBS, 26RKS, 27RES, 27SAB, 27SGS, 29BHS, 29FKD, 29RLD, 30RKD, 31MBS, 32RDB, 32RLI and 34TSB. Wiring for the solar prep kit may have been incorrectly wired to the wrong side of the 12V breaker, potentially allowing an electrical short in the event of damage to the wiring.
