RVs Move America Economic Impact Study was released June 3, 2019 at the RVIA annual meeting.

It revealed the RV industry has an overall economic impact on the US economy of $114 billion, supports nearly 600,000 jobs, with more than $32 billion in wages, and pays more than $12 billion in federal, state, and local taxes.

The announcement was made by Garry Enyart, RVIA chairman, and Onan/Cummins Director of Mobile Generator Sales & Coach Care.

Exclusive: RV Dealership In-Store TV Network Debuts

The Denver-based company took on its first RV clients earlier this year and signed contracts with many more following its successful appearance at this month’s 2019 RV Dealers Convention/Expo.

MotoTV curates and constantly updates videos from OEMs and other sources relevant to brands dealers sell—essentially creating a customized in-store TV network to get potential buyers excited about the units a dealer offers. Scrolling messages at the bottom of the screen inform consumers about deals and special offers, while digital menu boards present prices for RVs and services in a professional manner.

“Content is king these days, and dealers know that,” Moto TV Co-founder Chris Mosera says. “Dealers are installing TVs in their stores to get buyers excited about buying these products, but they’re overwhelmed by how much time it takes to manage the content to keep it fresh and informative.”

Digital signage increases sales, enhances the dealership atmosphere and educates consumers, he says. Videos playing in the showroom can also educate the sales staff.

“We once had a dealer tell us he thought MotoTV was great until he walked in and saw his sales team gathered around watching a TV,” he says. “He was upset until he realized it was a product video he hadn’t been able to get them to watch in the break room to learn more about the product.”

MotoTV’s team of content curators compile 10- to 15-hour video playlists tailored to the products a dealer is selling. The dealership’s logo is also displayed onscreen. A dealer can customize messages that change approximately every 15 seconds. TVs in the showroom can display different messages from TVs in the service department or other areas of the store.

“One (screen) can be a welcome board, welcoming specific customers to the dealership,” Mosera says. “One service board can be all about winterization. Another can be about the rental program. There can be as many boards as a dealer wants. It is really easy to change the messages from the backend. A dealer can do it from home.”

The TVs can also be used as touchscreens if a sales rep wants to show a customer the specs and special features of a specific RV unit.
