Diverse RVs Arrive at West Virginia State Fairgrounds

Mon Jun 27, 2016

FAIRLEA, West Virginia — The “Silver City” at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds is growing day by day, as members of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International (WBCCI), the Airstream RV owners’ association, gather for the 59th annual International Convention/Rally.

Although the rally will officially get under way Tuesday, the distinctive aluminum-clad, bullet-shaped Airstreams began streaming through Lewisburg and onto the fairgrounds two weeks ago, with the count of onsite trailers rising to 360 by Thursday.

According to WBCCI President Jim Schwerdfeger, 722 trailers, bearing nearly 1,500 people — and a few pets — are expected for the week-long rally, which will conclude July 5.
