Thor-Jayco Acquisition Sign of Confidence in Industry

Tue Jul 5, 2016

ELKHART, Indiana — The $576 million deal Elkhart-based Thor Industries Inc. has struck to buy Jayco Corp. can be seen as a vote of confidence in the future of the recreational vehicle industry.

That was the top take-away from Friday’s announcement by the companies in the opinion of Seth Woolf, a research analyst with Northcoast Research, an independent institutional equity research firm in Cleveland.

Thor is a $4 billion company and one of the industry’s largest, with 10,500 employees. It reported earnings of $200 million for its 2015 fiscal year ended last July 31.
