RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Airxcel Inc. Promotes Jeff Rutherford to President and CEO

WICHITA, KANSAS – Airxcel Inc. has announced that Jeff Rutherford has been promoted to President and CEO of the company. Rutherford joined Airxcel in June 2013 bringing to the business a wealth of experience in manufacturing and business leadership.

“Airxcel and its brands, Coleman-Mach, Suburban, Maxxair, Marvair and ICE, have earned a leadership position in their respective markets through the efforts of many talented people committed to providing excellent product and service to our customers.” Rutherford says. “Building on this legacy committed to growth in brands and product offering will lead to opportunities for our 900 plus employees building product in the USA and our business partners.”

Rutherford replaces Mel Adams who is retiring as an active employee of the company after founding and leading the company during the past 25 years. Adams will continue to be a member of Airxcel’s Board of Directors and will continue to provide advice and guidance to the board and the company leadership team.

Airxcel, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, manufactures a variety of specialty air conditioning, heating, ventilating and related appliances for recreation vehicles, telecommunications enclosures, school classrooms, modular structures, assisted living, multi-family housing and other industrial/commercial applications. The combined resources of the company’s business units represent more than 900 employees at three manufacturing locations in Kansas, Georgia and Tennessee. The company’s heritage matured from a long held division of The Coleman Company, Inc., to Recreation Vehicle Products, Inc., in 1991 and later renamed Airxcel in 1997 when Suburban and Marvair were added to the Company’s holdings.
