Thu Jul 14, 2016

146367072538764.jpgWinnebago will host the 2016 WIT Club Grand National Rally from July 18-23. This year’s theme is Many Borders, No Boundaries and begins with the Winnebago Kickoff Party on July 18.

The kickoff party will take place in the Product Display Area featuring more than 30 new motorhome and towable products built by Winnebago. While looking at the latest products, attendees will have the opportunity to meet contributing bloggers to Winnebago’s lifestyle website, WinnebaGoLife. Making appearances will be James and Stef Adinaro, Don Cohen and Peter, Kathy and Abby Holcombe.

Additional activities on Monday evening include a car cruise on John K. and Luise V. Hanson Boulevard and Bago Bingo.

“We invite all rally attendees to participate in the expanded offerings on Monday evening,” Consumer Engagement Manager Denise Yeager says. “We will start the week on a high note and maintain that pace throughout rally week with a full schedule of activities, in-depth building tours of Winnebago’s manufacturing facilities, formative seminars, food and entertainment.”

In total, attendees can choose from more than 500 different planned activities over the course of the week leading up to the rally and rally week. Evening entertainment includes Shaun Johnson Big Band Experience, Crystal Gage and Ryan St. Denis, Malek’s Fishermen Band, The Johnny Rogers Show and Gaelic Storm.

Throughout the week, funds will be raised for Warrior Expeditions, which is this year’s GNR charity. Warrior Expeditions was created to support combat veterans transitioning from military service by thru-hiking, biking and paddling America’s National Scenic Trails. Founder and Marine Corps veteran Sean Gobin will be attending GNR this year in his 2014 Winnebago Travato. He also will be presenting a seminar on July 20.

Volunteer opportunities also will be available throughout the week with a Red Cross Blood Drive and an appearance from the Habitat for Humanity RV Care-A-Vanners. Attendees will be able to participate in a build day where they can help construct a backyard shed for a future homeowner.

Other highlights during the week include daily fitness activities, row decorating, games and an ice cream social. The rally concludes Saturday, July 23, with closing ceremonies.
