The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.
Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

GOSHEN, Indiana — Plans for a new Middlebury RV repair facility took another step forward Monday during a meeting of the Elkhart County Board of Commissioners.
Approved Monday was a request by Jerry and Ruby Bontrager, represented by Philip Barker of Cardinal Point Surveying, Goshen, for a zoning change from Agriculture-1 to Detailed Planned Unit Development Manufacturing-1 to be known as Riteway State Road 13 DPUD.
Plans for the project, which received initial approval from the Elkhart County Plan Commission June 9, involve construction of a new, 100-foot-by-84-foot RV repair facility on the 5.58-acre parcel on Ind. 13 while also maintaining an existing woodworking shop on the property.
