ELKHART, Indiana — The recreational vehicle industry’s two largest manufacturers are fierce competitors, but they’re also partners that help employees get through financial hardships.
Since the Forest River/Thor Industries Community Foundation was launched in late 2014, it has aided numerous employees and their families during times of unforeseen financial need by offering grants up to $20,000.
Employees of the Elkhart-based companies, which each have several subsidiaries in the Michiana region and other parts of the country, can receive grants for a variety of hardships. Examples include a serious illness, car accident, home theft, house fire or death in the family. Employees and their immediate family members can qualify for aid.
