RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

TriMas Corp. Replaces David Wathen as President with Thomas Amato

146980882561736.jpgBloomfield Hills-based TriMas Corp. has announced it has replaced David Wathen as president and CEO at the diversified manufacturing company, after reporting mid-year revenue was off about $43 million from early 2015.

The company board of directors has appointed Thomas Amato, 52, former president-CEO of Plymouth-based Metaldyne LLC, to replace him, effective immediately.

Wathen, 63, had been CEO since January 2009 at TriMas and was re-elected to another three-year board term May 12 at the company's annual shareholder meeting, according to disclosures to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He has also stepped down from that board seat, and the company says it will appoint Amato to the board.
