RV Inspection Connection Helps Dealerships Better Serve New Buyers

147015548999332.jpgHEBER SPRINGS, Arkansas — RV Inspection Connection’s Certified Pre-Owned programs help dealerships service the two largest growing demographics; millennials and women.

Director of Administration Stephanie Henson says that female buyers throughout the RV industry have been increasing and dealerships need to adjust to the shift.

“For years, surveys have revealed that a woman’s purchasing power has increased and that women make up 85 percent of all purchasing decisions for the home," Henson says. "The auto industry shows that women make up 50 percent of all vehicle purchases and women make the final decision on an RV purchase 70 percent of the time. Market analysis shows that women make their decisions based on practicality and security and are not overly swayed by bells and whistles. “Certified Pre-Owned programs provide the security and peace of mind which fulfills the largest portion of the buying decision among women, and purchasing a pre-owned unit provides the practicality verses purchasing new.

“We have developed the Blue Shield Certified Pre-Owned Program for dealerships due to the number of women who have called and asked for an inspection on a pre-owned RV being sold at the dealership lot. Careful inspections take time and every one of our inspections are carefully reviewed by quality analysis team which takes extra time. When a customer calls us to inspect a unit on a dealership lot it can take a minimum of 48 hours to provide the customer with the full report. So we have created the program Blue Shield Certified Pre-Owned Program as a win-win scenario for the dealership as well as the customer. By working with the dealership at the beginning, performing our inspection and by providing a 90-day service agreement the dealer can offer this unit as a Certified Pre-Owned unit ready made for the woman buyer who is on the lot.”

Millennials also have been increasing in the RV market, Henson says. She says that Autotrader's 2015 Certified Pre-owned study revealed that millennials hope to own the luxury brands but can't afford the price. That's where a certified pre-owned program can come in to bridge the gap.

"In fact, the study also reveals that millennial Certified Pre-Owned owners are more likely than older generations to buy a new car from the same dealer for their next purchase as their purchasing power increases,” she says. “The certified pre-owned program provides peace of mind, safety and practicality all at a lower price than a new unit. Autotrader’s 2015 study revealed that the top 3 reasons why buyers chose a certified pre-owned unit were due to peace of mind, service agreements, and price.

RV Inspection Connection’s Blue Shield Certified Pre-Owned Program can provide dealerships a customizable program to meet the needs of both these growing demographics.”

The Blue Shield Certified Pre-Owned Program is administered by RV Inspection Connection and is available nationwide only to RV dealers. For a no pressure consultation on this dealer-only program, contact Todd Henson, at thenson@rvinspection.com or 877-540-4272.
