MCPS for Campgrounds Expands into RV Dealerships

Wed Aug 3, 2016

Credit card provider MCPS for Campgrounds will be expanding its business to include RV dealers, beginning with an inaugural webinar later this month.

The company added hotels, bed and breakfasts and lodgings to its repertoire of business clients nearly two years ago when it formed HotelStar Processing Service. After forming a relationship with Front Desk Anywhere, the reservation service whose primary business was furnishing a reservation program to the hotel industry, MCPS earlier this year once again produced a Virtual Hospitality Expo, this time eliminating the term “Outdoor” from the title and included hotels, lodgings, resorts and bed and breakfasts into the exhibitors and attendees. The event drew more than 400 attendees from around the world, many of them hotels. Since that time HotelStar has joined the California Hotel and Lodging Association and run a successful webinar, explaining the new chip cards and the EVM terminals that are needed to process the cards. Hosted by the association, 29 members attended the webinar.

Now, once again, the processor is moving laterally and attempting to do business with yet another industry that is closely associated with campgrounds: RV Dealers. MCPS for Campgrounds President Art Lieberman says the transition over to RV dealers was an easy jump to make and gives the company another type of business to work with to help save them money in the credit card processing.

"A lot of RV dealers are tied to a lot of the supplier for credit card processing," Lieberman says. "It's just another retailer that we serve. The industry is fascinating."

MCPS will be presenting a free webinar on Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. EDT dealing with the new chip cards and terminals. The webinar is available to any business owner, who should register prior to the event. A PDF of the webinar also will be provided upon request. Lieberman can be reached at rvcreditcards@yahoo.com.
