OPUS Camper Debuts Air Tent

Tue Aug 9, 2016

147076064974791.jpgOPUS Camper has debuted its new OPUS Air Tent, which converts a compact trailer into a luxury six-berth family camper in less than 90 seconds.

Air Tent technology will remove any need for traditional poles to erect the camper, reducing total setup time from around 15 minutes to just five. An electric pump is fitted inside the camper, so all it takes is a press of a switch for the air tubes to do the magic and then head inside to complete the interior setup.

Air pole technology has taken over the tent industry and is now making its first appearance on a folding camper/trailer tent.

The new OPUS Air Tent makes its global debut at Caravan Salon Dusseldorf 2016, ahead of worldwide roll-out throughout the USA, the UK, Europe, Australia and South Africa in early 2017.

Air tent technology is the latest enhancement to the OPUS dual-fold camper, designed to offer luxury camping for thrill-seeking adventurers everywhere. OPUS Camper Managing Director Jonathan Harrison says Air Tent technology was a revolutionary addition to an already revolutionary design.

“OPUS Camper has taken the world by storm with its unique combination of camper-style luxury and trailer-style compactness,” he says. “From the countryside of Britain to the scorching outback of Australia, OPUS is proving itself as comfortable and versatile as it is rugged and easy to tow. It is also winning the hearts and minds of campers right across Europe, and in the USA and South Africa. Even without Air Tent technology, OPUS is impressively quick to set up with its easily adjusted pole system and clip-together interior furnishings, so Air Tent technology makes a good thing even better.”

OPUS Camper will launch new Air Tent technology for its luxury folding camper at Caravan Salon Dusseldorf.

The Air Tent technology also aids in a speedy pack down. The camper just has to release the valve and all air poles are deflated, saving space inside the OPUS when compared to the current pole version.

OPUS was developed to offer the appointment and space of an RV, but with the charm and excitement of camping under canvas, in a good-looking compact trailer with a light tow weight that means it can be towed by the smaller SUVs, according to a press release.

“We have developed OPUS in several versions to suit markets around the world,” Harrison says. For Australia we have a tough luxury version to suit tough Aussie conditions, and we will soon offer some of that down-under toughness in the USA, UK and Europe. What all OPUS models deliver - and always will - is a unique combination of style, space, comfort and convenience in a package that is remarkably compact for towing and storage.”
