Fairfax, Virginia - A new remote proctoring solution for RV technician certification exams is set to be tested over the next six months.
During a trial period that began on Aug. 17, all testing will be proctored using “Remote Proctor Now” from Software Secure, an on-demand, online exam proctor that will offer certification candidates flexibility in scheduling, registration and test taking. The program meets RV Service Technician Certification Governing Board’s standards for test integrity and security.
The new program was recently tested by nine certification candidates who reported positive experiences.
Software Secure’s platform is different from the previous system chiefly in that proctoring is not done in real time, reducing testing anxiety and easing scheduling constraints. Instead, tests are recorded and reviewed later by a proctor. Testing candidates will receive login information when they sign up for the test and can login at any time, 24/7, to take the exam.
The industry’s technician certification program is administered by RVDA and RVIA under the auspices of the RV Service Technician Certification Governing Board. The program tests, certifies and recertifies technicians. For questions or comments on this action, email email@example.com.
