147162445363856.gifCHICAGO — Darryl Searer, RV/MH Hall of Fame president and founder of Ultra-Fab Products, accepted the Jim Barker Award at the RVAA Executive Conference in Chicago on Thursday.

The award was presented by 1988 winner John Roba, founder of JR Products and longtime friend of Searer. Searer spent many years building Ultra-Fab Products, a company many in the industry know and respect. Roba noted that not only is Searer a past president of RVAA, but he continues to work tirelessly as the president of the RV/MH Hall of Fame. Searer presented plans to expand the Hall of Fame to members during the Awards Luncheon.

“Darryl has always been so giving of his time and energy, always doing what needs to be done and never asking for anything in return," Roba says. "Believe me, presenting this award [to Darryl] is long overdue.”

Selected by a panel of past winners, Searer says he was surprised and thrilled to receive the award.

“I really am just flabbergasted,” Searer says. “I’ve been lucky enough to do what I love, with so many people who are key players in our [industry’s] success, for a long time. It’s an honor to be recognized like this."

The Jim Barker Award is highly coveted and only granted to worthy nominations. There have been several years when the award has not been given.

The award is presented to individuals who have worked enthusiastically on behalf of RVAA, who have donated time and money spearheading projects and programs targeted to improve RVAA and have displayed a clear objective to improve the RV industry.
