ARVC Foundation Grants Disaster Relief to Three Campgrounds

Thu Aug 25, 2016

145072711485549.jpgDenver, Colorado - The ARVC Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, has announced it has granted disaster relief funding to three campgrounds within the past week. Two of the awarded campgrounds were damaged by the recent devastating floods in Louisiana. The third campground, also affected by flooding, is located in Colorado.

The ARVC Foundation created the Disaster Relief Fund in 2005 to assist campgrounds affected by Hurricane Katrina. Since then, the Foundation has aided numerous campgrounds across the country by providing more than $69,000 in financial support.

“We are so grateful that we have been able to support parks that have been devastated by disaster,” ARVC Foundation Executive Director Barb Youmans says. "Whether it’s providing a grant to a park to help a specific family that was impacted by the disaster or supporting the park directly through low-interest loans and grants, the Foundation wants to be there to help out.

With more precipitation in the forecast, the Foundation is ready to assist other campgrounds that may be affected by flooding as well as those impacted by other natural disasters.

Individuals or organizations wishing to contribute to future relief efforts are encouraged to do so by visiting www.arvcfoundation.org. Parks seeking emergency disaster relief funding can apply for assistance at www.arvcfoundation.org.
