The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.
Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

FORT MYERS, Florida - Universal Trailer Corporation hosted its dealer network at the UTC Dealer Meeting, from Aug. 9-11 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dealers in attendance sell trailers and products from all of UTC’s brands, including Exiss, Featherlite, Haulmark, Haulmark Motorcoach, Sooner, UltraLav and Wells Cargo.
“The UTC Dealer Meeting is a unique opportunity for dealers across all our leading brands to come together as one, learning from and connecting with fellow dealers and business leaders,” UTC CEO Terry Carlson says. “It's an opportunity for UTC to showcase its newest products and gather feedback to help cement each dealer's leadership in their market and in the industry overall.”
In addition to the opportunity to hear from and speak with UTC personnel, dealers heard from keynote speaker Derek Daly and other outside marketing and sales personnel through a host of breakout sessions. Daly, the Dealer Meeting keynote speaker, is a former racing driver and broadcaster who competed in Formula One and CART events.
“Mr. Daly delivered a powerful message that resonated with our dealers,” UTC Vice President of Marketing Jeff Howes says. “He offered valuable insight on the importance of dealers positioning their business for future success considering today’s fast changing world.”
During the Dealer Meeting, UTC also honored its top 10 dealers in each brand and top dealers from each region, in addition to several other special awards. The following dealers received the Dealer of the Year Awards:

-Featherlite Trailers: Twin Cities Featherlite, Elko, Minnesota

-Wells Cargo Trailers: Young Buick GMC, Layton, Utah
“The dealers UTC recognized at this year's Awards Banquet are part of a distinguished group of business leaders from all areas of the U.S. and Canada who have combined a strong commitment to customer service with sales success,” UTC Vice President of Sales Ed Maron says.
The Dealer Meeting also presented the opportunity for UTC’s brands to unveil more than 50 new and enhanced trailers, in addition to the redesigned Status Haulmark Motorcoach.
New Haulmark trailer products include the ALX all-aluminum gooseneck 53-foot race trailer with living quarters and finished garage area and the ALX all-aluminum All Sport with new platinum interior package and premium escape door with removable wheel box.
The redesigned Status Haulmark Motorcoach features a new automotive style front and rear cap and a new opposing sofa floorplan with a large interior footprint.
New custom décor choices, more floorplans and a lower gooseneck for additional headroom are now available in Featherlite’s Liberty Living Quarters. Featherlite also has two new straight load horse trailers available as well as newly redesigned livestock trailers.
New Featherlite car and cargo trailers include an enclosed cargo trailer Model 1620, open snowmobile trailer Model 1630, enclosed motorcycle trailer Model 1650, open car hauler Model 3182 and enclosed race trailer Model 4930.
For Wells Cargo dealers and customers, there is a new Work Wagon LS trailer that is specifically designed for the professional landscaper as well as a new Badland Series of motorcycle trailers in traditional configurations and low-profile v-nose models. Wells Cargo also has a new line of heavy-duty aluminum open gooseneck flatbed trailers.
UTC also introduced a new brand, Ultrasite, which is targeted to the temporary site structure market for use as mobile offices, jobsite trailers, mobile guard shacks and temporary storage. The model on display at Dealer Meeting featured a two stall restroom, 100 square feet of office space and a large storage area.
The Exiss Endeavor Living Quarters is now available with eight versatile floorplans as well as many new décor options. Exiss also has a new line of side load models Sooner living quarters that feature large rear tack areas. Exiss also introduced a new livestock trailer with a longer 8-foot nose, a 54-inch side access door and new lower air gap and v-nose options.
The Sooner Premier Living Quarters, featuring solid wood cabinetry, now offers more options, new floorplans and a 2-year warranty.
