Outdoors RV and Winnebago Recall RVs

Mon Sep 12, 2016

Outdoors RV Manufacturing is recalling 140 of its 2015-17 Glacier Peak fifth wheel travel trailers. The affected vehicles have a pin box that may flex resulting in metal fatigue and possible separation of the trailer from the tow vehicle.

The company has notified owners, and dealers will inspect the pin box, reinforcing it if necessary, free of charge, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall began Aug. 26.

Winnebago Industries also has recalled 3,826 of its 2014-17 Itasca Cambria, 2015-17 Winnebago ERA, Travato, Fuse, Aspect and Vista recreational vehicles and 2015-16 Itasca Sunstar built between May 6, 2014 and April 22, 2016.

The affected vehicles have a power cord connection to the automatic transfer switch that may not be tightened properly.

A loose connection could cause a build-up of heat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will tighten the power cord connection, replacing the ATS box and switch, if necessary, free of charge.

No date for the recall to begin has been set.
