RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Texas Led Nation in 2015 RV Sales

Thursday through Sunday, the 2016 Southwest RV Supershow is scheduled for Market Hall. More than 400 recreational vehicles will be on display. RVs of every size and configuration will be available for purchase. This is the largest RV show in the southwest.

According to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association, Texas led the nation in 2015 RV sales. Nearly 8 percent of all RVs sold in 2015 were sold in Texas. Florida was second with 4.12 percent of all sales.

The RV industry does a good job educating prospective buyers through websites like gorving.com and rvsmoveamerica.org. Show hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Thursday and Sunday, 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. General admission is $13. Children 15 and younger are free. Thursday admission costs $8. Friday is seniors day; seniors 65 and older pay $8.
