RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Two Elkhart RV Businesses on Fortune Fastest Growing List

145677893217453.pngELKHART, Indiana - Two big names in the Indiana RV industry are included on a national list for growth. The Fortune Fastest-Growing Companies top 100 class is ranked based on criteria including annual revenue growth and earnings per share over the last three years. Patrick Industries Inc. and Drew Industries Inc., both based in Elkhart, have ridden the RV industry's resurgence and announced several acquisitions.

Indiana Automotive Council Director Matt Conrad says the return of the sector has created work force and training challenges.

Companies included on the Fortune list have a minimum market capitalization of $250 million and a stock price of at least $5 per share on June 30. They're ranked by revenue growth rate, EPS growth rate and three-year annualized total return by the midpoint of the year.
