Highland Ridge RV opened its new manufacturing facility Sept. 19, designed to double production for the company and create up to 65 new jobs by 2019, according to the company.

The new 92,000 square-foot facility is located on the company's Shipshewana, Indiana campus and the expansion will allow the company to double the production of its Light and Ultra Lite trailers. The expansion cost the company $5.6 million.

The opening was officially completed at about 10 a.m. EST, where Indiana Economic Development Corp. President Jim Schellinger was present.

The Jayco, Inc. subsidiary had increased sales over the last couple of years, allowing the company to afford the large expansion.
