RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

RoverPass raises more than $1M in funding in first year

RoverPass, an online booking site for nationwide RV parks and campgrounds, has raised more than $1 million in startup funding in a year, and plans to reach $2 million by the end of 2016.

An Austin-based startup, RoverPass launched in 2015 as an online park directory. In 2016, the company released its online reservations platform, RoverPass Checkout, accelerating investor interest and company growth.

RoverPass’ funding is supported by local investment firm, ATX Seed Ventures. Leading the company is CEO Ravi Parikh. This is Parikh’s second startup venture. He began working on RoverPass after selling MakerSquare in January 2015.

RoverPass Checkout is introducing online reservations in an industry that has shown progressive growth over the past decade. RV sales have been and continue to grow as the market expands from traditional retirees to van lifers and Millennials. As a result, RoverPass technology is positioned for growth alongside these market trends, according to a press release.
