RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Texas Renaissance Festival Opens Oct. 8

147516658111403.jpgWith the start of the 42nd season of the Texas Renaissance Festival also comes the opening of the Festival’s sprawling 200-acre Fields of New Market Campground for everyone to enjoy. New this 2016 season, the Texas Renaissance Festival has announced the addition of two food trucks to the Campground: Texas Fat Boyz and Sum Yum.

Texas Fat Boyz will offer chicken salad sandwiches, cheeseburgers, sausage on a bun and sausage on a stick for guests to enjoy, while Sum Yum will offer General Tso’s chicken, orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, pepper steak and egg rolls. Both trucks will be open from 6 p.m. into the early hours of the morning.

Texas Renaissance Festival General Manager Terre Albert, shared his excitement about the new food trucks.

“We constantly look for ways to make our campground the best in the land and we know our guests will truly enjoy these new additions," Albert says. "We can’t wait to kick off the 2016 season and look forward to providing our guests with a wonderful camping experience.”

The Fields of New Market Campground is a special way to continue the magic and excitement of the renaissance experience after the daily close of the Festival. Conveniently located next to the Festival grounds, the Campground welcomes RVs, trailers and tent campers and offers a choice of main campground sites or quiet campground sites. Families can huddle around the communal campfire and enjoy live flame-dancing and entertainment by the fire performers.

Adult guests staying on the campgrounds can take the New Market Shuttle for $4 over to TRF After Dark for a late night of merriment. TRF After Dark offers live entertainment, dancing, hors d’ oeuvres buffet, and cash bar each weekend for adults 21 years and older only.

Additional campground amenities include:
Two convenience stores offering camping supplies, food and beverages
Permanent and portable restrooms
Shower facilities and new grooming room (complete with mirrors, outlets and sinks)
Water and RV dump stations

Tickets for the 2016 Festival are now available and can be purchased online at Camping passes start at $25 per vehicle per weekend with the purchase of Festival tickets.
