RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Free Tech Training Coming to Pennsylvania

Camp Hill, Pennsylvania – The Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association is hosting free Norcold/Thetford, Suburban and Coleman training this fall to its members.

The Norcold/Thetford training will be held Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Comfort Inn New Stanton in New Stanton, Pennsylvania. Lunch will be provided. The seminar will include details on Norcold's cooling unit and how it works, including ventilation, burner and orifice, spark electrode, heaters, downdraft effects, diagnostics, removal, resealing and testing information. Power Board's codes, flow charts and diagnostic screens as well as the icemaker diagnostics and water valve information also will be discussed.

Thetford Sanitation Products also will be covered including holding tank chemicals and seal lubricants.

A service and parts breakdown will be held on the following toilet models: Brava, Aria, Aqua Magic Style Lite and Tecma. A question and answer session will conclude the training.

The registration deadline is Oct. 26. Training qualifies for six re-certification hours.

The Suburban training will be held Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at NTP-Stag in Exeter, Pennsylvania. Lunch will be provided. This training session will cover the sequence of operation on the Suburban water heaters and Suburban furnaces, with hands-on training. You will also learn valuable information on ranges.

Product service manuals will be available for each technician in attendance. Attendees should bring their own own tools to the training session (i.e., cordless screw gun, multi meter, etc.)

The registration deadline is Oct. 26. Training qualifies for eight re-certification hours.

Coleman training will be held on Nov. 3rd from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at NTP-Stag in Exeter. Lunch will be provided. This training will cover the sealed system of the refrigerant and control parts of an air conditioner and how to trouble shoot the system.

The registration deadline is October 26. Training qualifies for eight re-certification hours.

This is free training for PRVCA members - $250 value for each training. A $50 fee will be applied for no-shows. To register for the events, visit www.prvca.org.
