RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

64th Annual California RV Show Expects Record Attendance

147577271431439.jpgRVIA's 64th Annual California RV Show kicks off Oct. 7 in Pomona, California and stretches for 10 days, ending on Sunday, Oct. 16, with a record attendance being expected.

Twenty-six RV dealers from throughout the state are scheduled to display their models and products, while every type of motorhome, trailer and camper will be on display during the show. The more than 1 million square feet of exhibit space will be used showcasing 1,325 RVs and hundreds of vendors selling RV parts, accessories, vacation packages and services.

A full day of seminars will be going on each day of the event, for industry professionals and RVers alike. The seminars will be hosted by Dave Solberg, from the RV Handyman, Ben McBride from McBride's RV Storage and representatives from Blue Ox Towing throughout the event's length.

New features at this year's event will include the chance to win a 2017 Lance travel trailer, while attendees also can get comfortable in a special customer lounge inside the exhibitor tent complete with picnic tables, drinks and cell phone charging stations.

"This is the only RV show wholly owned and operated by RV manufacturers and, as such, features the latest and most innovative RVs available," RVIA California RV Show Director Tom Gaither says. "Consumers will see the largest selection of 2017 modles, more Class B's than ever before, the nation's biggest display of toy haulers and RVs of every size and shape."

In addition to Lance Campers, other manufacturers that will be exhibiting include ShowHauler, Renegade RV, Winnebago Winnedrop, Riverside Retro, Genesis Supreme, Born Free Motor Coach, Erwin Hymer Group and more.

In addition, those attending the show will have the chance to meet sports legends like Eric Dickerson from the Los Angeles Rams, James Worthy and A.C. Green from the Los Angeles Lakers and Steve Garvey from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Free Ferris wheel rides, fair food and live music also will abound throughout the week and a half run.
