Recalls Issued for Jayco and Daimler Trucks

Mon Oct 17, 2016

Daimler Truck North America LLC has recalled 11 of the 2017 Freightliner Custom Chassis S2 bus chassis built between Nov. 25, 2015 through April 27, 2016. The brake transmission shift interlock feature may be inoperable, making it possible to shift into a drive gear without first pressing the brake pedal, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

If the shift happens, it could cause the vehicle to start moving or rolling away unintentionally.

Daimler dealers will update the vehicle's software free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Dec. 1.

Jayco, Inc. is recalling 137 of its 2017 Seismic travel trailers that were built between Nov. 19, 2015 and Aug. 19, 2016. The affected vehicles may be equipped with an underrated resettable fuse for the awning with LED lights.

The wrong fuse may not properly protect the circuit and could lead to an electrical short.

Jayco dealers will replace the fuse with the correct 1.85 amp hold/3.70 amp trip fuse, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Nov. 4.
