The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.
Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Forest City, Iowa – Winnebago Industries has announced completion of its acquisition of Grand Design RV for about $500 million in cash and Winnebago shares, along with a seven-year $300 million loan and five-year asset based lending facility for up to $125 million, arranged by JPMorgan Chase Bank.
"We are pleased to complete this transformative transaction,” says Michael Happe, Winnebago's President and Chief Executive Officer. “The acquisition of Grand Design positions Winnebago Industries as an immediately stronger player in the RV market and will provide long-term value for our shareholders."
Winnebago is a manufacturer of recreation vehicles, such as motorhomes, travel trailers and fifth wheel products. Winnebago has received the Quality Circle Award from the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association every year since 1996. Winnebago has multiple facilities in Iowa, Indiana, Oregon and Minnesota.
