RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Bob Martin Listed as No. 21 on Forbes' Businessperson of the Year

147809880849304.jpgThor Industries CEO Bob Martin was named as No. 21 on the Forbes Magazine Businessperson of the Year.

Since Martin took the helm of the largest RV manufacturer in the world in 2013, profits have accelerated a cumulative 68 percent, while margins have steadily improved.

In the nearly four years since Martin took the job, Thor Industries has acquired Bison Coach, K-Z RV, Cruiser RV, DRX Luxury Suites, Postle Aluminum, and most recently, Jayco, Inc.

While Martin is No. 21, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook was listed No. 1 while Jeff Bezos of Amazon was listed No. 2. Other business people listed include Tim Cook of Apple at No. 11; Mary Barra of General Motors at No. 12; Reed Hastings of Netflix at No. 13; Travis Kalanick of Uber at No. 15; and Robert Iger of Disney at No. 22.
