RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Jacksonville RV MegaShow Scheduled Feb. 9-12

Jacksonville, Florida - The 2017 Jacksonville RV MegaShow is scheduled Thursday, Feb. 9 through Sunday, Feb. 12 at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center, located at 13611 Normandy Blvd.

Regular admission is $8 for adults and children 12 years or younger are admitted free. All active and retired military and first-responders who attend will receive half-off the regular admission price throughout the show. On Thursday, Feb. 11, the opening day of the show, all seniors will receive half-price admission.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 through Saturday, Feb. 13 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12. Parking is free at the equestrian center.

Five $50 gift cards will be awarded to guests as door prizes each day of the show.

More than 400 new recreational vehicles of all types, including motor homes, travel trailers, fifth-wheels and tent campers, will be on display. Participating dealers include Campers Inn (Jacksonville), Camping World RV Sales (Jacksonville), Dick Gore’s RV World (Jacksonville), General RV Center (Orange Park), Ocean Grove RV Supercenter (St. Augustine) and Travelcamp (Jacksonville). Manufacturer’s representatives also will be offering special incentives for RV purchases.

RV accessory vendors, along with campgrounds and other RV companies, will have displays at the show and finance and insurance company representatives will be on hand to answer questions from guests considering an RV purchase.

In addition to the RV dealers and vendors, Jacksonville author Linda Segall will sell and sign copies of her new book "Don't Back into the Palm Tree! Real Life Lessons for New and Wannabe RVers" from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11.
