MILWAUKEE - BOLT knows the best way to prevent costly trailer theft is with a visible and functional sign of security. To meet this need, the company has introduced its Off-Vehicle Coupler Lock that secures a trailer when it's not attached to a vehicle.
The Off-Vehicle Coupler Lock is a new dimension in trailer security that features BOLT's patented one-key lock technology that permanently programs locks to the vehicle's ignition key for single-key use no matter how many BOLT locks are being used. The lock is easily programmed the first time the ignition key is inserted into the BOLT Lock cylinder through the use of spring-loaded plate tumblers that move up and down to uniquely code the cylinder to that specific key.
Made of hardened steel for extra security, the Off-Vehicle Coupler Lock works with 1 7/8-inch, 2-inch and 2 15/16-inch couplers to keep a variety of trailers secure while unattended. The innovative BOLT lock is a visible theft deterrent that is designed with a unique plate tumbler sidebar to prevent picking and bumping. A highly durable powder-coated finish is factory applied to the lock to keep dirt and moisture out while protecting the locking mechanism from harsh weather.
"The new BOLT Off-Vehicle Coupler Lock brings the convenience of our one-key technology to those who routinely use and store their trailers," BOLT National Sales Manager Erika Garcia says. "This new addition to our lock line is a highly-visible deterrent that sends would-be thieves on their way and gives trailer owners a peace-of-mind that their investment is secure when not in use. Since the lock works with the vehicle ignition key, you never have to worry about keeping track of an extra key."
In addition to the new BOLT Off-Vehicle Coupler Lock, the extensive BOLT product line includes Padlocks, Cable Locks, Coupler Pin Locks, King Pin Locking Systems and Receiver Locks as well as a Toolbox Latch Retrofit Kit. For Jeep owners, BOLT also offers a J-Mount, a JK hood lock as well as a spare tire carrier lock. BOLT's patented technology helps to deter theft in a variety of applications and reduces key clutter by allowing use of the ignition key for numerous locks.
