RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Park Model Shipments Increase 11.9 Percent in November

145072659275994.jpgPark Model RV shipments have increased by 11.9 percent in November compared with last year, according to a report from the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.

As of the November report, there have been 273 park model shipments in November, compared with 244 last year. Despite the monthly increase, the cumulative data is exact, with 3,456 park model RVs being shipped year to date in both years.

The highest concentration of park model shipments were to the pacific area, including California, Oregon and Washington, where a cumulative 21.7 percent of the shipments were sent.

Statewide, California had the most park models shipped, with 43, or 16.7 percent of the total, with Texas coming in second at 38 or 14.7 percent of the total. Maine, Florida and North Carolina rounded out the top five, with 23 (8.9 percent), 19 (7.4 percent) and 16 (6.2 percent) respectively.
