RV News Exclusive: Forest River Opening Four New Facilities

Tue Jan 3, 2017

The three factories were initially built by Dutch Housing, and later acquired by manufactured homes builder Champion Homes, according to Forest River Spokesman Mike Stump. However, the three factories have sat vacant for eight years and are going under renovations to be ready for operations by June of this year.

The company has invested $6.7 million in four facilities which cover 450,000 square feet over 100 acres, according to a story from wane.com.

The fourth facility, which is being leased until October 2018, will be renovated and converted to a Forest River manufacturing facility at that time, but Stump says the full purpose of that last facility hasn't been determined yet.

The facilities will create up to 425 jobs by 2019 and the hiring process will begin this month in LaGrange for positions across the company.

"They will all be new hires from the LaGrange area," Stump says. "We plan on having three buildings up and running by June of this year."

In addition to the four new facilities in LaGrange, Forest River also has plants in Goshen, Millersburg, Topeka, Middlebury and Wakarusa, Indiana. It was founded in 1996 and is one of the largest RV manufacturers in the country.
