RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Starcraft Distribution Names New President and Vice President

Bristol, Indiana - Starcraft Distribution Company/DDR has named Derek Thews and Nick Chumas as President and Vice President respectively of the importer/distributor to the automotive and recreational vehicle industry.

Thews joined Starcraft Distribution Company in 2010 as General Manager. Previously he was employed by Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems in El Segundo, California and was honorably discharged from the U.S Marine Corp.

His knowledge and business experience in fulfilling the needs to both the automotive and recreational vehicle industry has allowed Starcraft/DDR to expand and grow in the marketplace, according to a press release.

Chumas joined the company in 2015 and has expanded the manufacturing facility to accommodate the growth of the company’s import/distribution needs for the automotive and recreational vehicle industry.

Prior to him joining Starcraft Distribution/DDR, Chumas was President and Co-founder of PRO-TEC Safety Equipment and held senior management positions at ASA and Alco Tool.

Nick and his wife Frances reside in Elkhart, Indiana.

Derek, his wife Lisa and their two children Madison and Jimmy also live in Elkhart.
