The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.
Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois - The 2017 camping guide for Illinois in now available in printed and digital formats.
The Illinois Go Camping 2017 RV & Camping Guide features 44 campgrounds and is available in digital format on www.IllinoisGoCamping.com, the mobile device friendly travel planning website hosted by Illinois Campground Association (ICA).
“We are getting a lot of positive feedback on the guide and on our website,” ICA President Jay Maier says, adding that free printed copies of the campground directory can be ordered through the website.
The print edition of the Illinois Go Camping 2017 RV & Camping Guide is being distributed at visitors’ centers, campgrounds and RV dealerships across the Midwest as well as major RV shows, including the St. Louis RV Vacation & Travel Show, Feb. 2-5 in St. Louis; the Chicago RV & Camping Show, Feb. 16-19 in Rosemont; the Quad Cities RV Show, Feb. 24-26 in Rock Island; the Central Illinois Recreation Show, March 3-5 in Peoria; and the Rockford RV Camping & Travel Show, March 10-12 in Loves Park.
Maier says the guide will also be distributed at RV shows in Missouri through a reciprocal agreement with the Missouri Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
“We distribute their guide at our shows and they distribute our guide at theirs,” he says.
