RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Equity LifeStyle Properties Expects 2017 Growth in RV and MH

Equity LifeStyle Properties CEO Marguerite Nader released the company's fourth quarter results in a conference call on Tuesday, saying the company expects even more growth in 2017 compared to its 2016 percentage increases.

The company increased its occupancy in its homes by 597 sites and increased homeowners by 814. The RV revenue grew by nearly 6 percent, while the MH business grew by 4.5 percent.

"In that time period, we have tripled our social media fan base to the current level of 340,000," Nader says. "Our annual online visitors have doubled and we have tripled our RV reservations booked online. We have significantly increased the volume of our online applications. And in 2016, we took in over 10,000 online applications for residency on our websites. We believe we will continue to see increased levels of engagement on our digital channels in 2017."
