RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Escapees RV Club To Host 57th Escapade

148613593490774.jpgLIVINGSTON, Texas - The Escapees RV Club will host the 57th Escapade at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, Arizona from March 19-24.

Escapade is a fun, five-day rally focused on the RV way of life. Escapade delivers an extensive line-up of educational workshops and lifestyle presentations for the RV enthusiast.

For the serious RVer, Escapade is an opportunity to learn or refine the nuances of a lifestyle that continues to attract devotees. It’s also a great way to meet like-minded folks enjoying the adventure that their “home on wheels” conveys. First held in Bakersfield, California in 1979, with 24 families attending, the event now hosts nearly 2,000 attendees from across the nation and internationally. As the third-largest RV club in the nation, Escapees RV Club members share a very special bond and a passion for RV travel. Often considered the No. 1 educational college for RVers in the country, classes are geared to the needs of serious RVers as well as teaching RV basics to folks just beginning their love affair with the RV lifestyle.

oN Wednesday, March 22, Escapade hosts a complimentary community appreciation day as a special thank you to the surrounding communities. Area residents are invited to visit from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to learn more about the club, its members and living the RV lifestyle. Guests may participate in the seminars, craft show-and-sell and peruse the wide selection of RV-related products available in the exhibitor and market areas.

In keeping with the Escapees motto of “caring and sharing”, the club will support the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona with a food and essential needs collection. In addition, Escapade delivers as much as $1 million into the local economy while attendees shop, dine and enjoy the charm of the local areas.

From kick-off to departure, there is nonstop excitement daily. First-rate educational and lifestyle seminars and FAQ sessions, computer and RV technical presentations, crafts sessions, line dancing, Zumba, RV driving classes and daily socials round out the busy week of Escapade.

As a bonus this year, during Escapade’s farewell party, Escapees will be celebrating the 90th birthday of the Escapee RV Club’s founder, Ms. Kay Peterson, who’ll be in attendance. Peterson and her late husband, Joe, are listed in the RV/MH Hall of Fame.
