RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Airstream Hires New Director of Materials

148648849499553.jpgJackson Center, Ohio - Airstream has announced the appointment of James (Jim) Downs as director of materials, effective immediately. Reporting directly to Airstream’s Senior Vice President of Operations, Mark Wahl, Downs will be responsible for directing the Procurement activity, Materials Planning and Inventory Control for Airstream.

“Jim has over 25 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles within materials and manufacturing/distribution management,” Wahl says. "His executive leadership in supply chain activities and development of supplier relationships will enhance Airstream’s strategic initiatives.”

In his most recent position, Downs was the Director of Supply Chain Management at Fairmont Homes, LLC.

Retired from the U.S. Air Force, Downs holds both a BS and MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. Downs and his wife Linda have two grown children, Craig and Lindsey.
