RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

RVIA Adds Two Speakers to RV Leadership Conference

148657399315881.gifRVIA has added two well-credentialed speakers to the lineup for the association’s RV Leadership Conference, taking place March 1–3 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Florida.

Eugenio J. Alemán, director and senior economist at Wells Fargo, will provide attendees an economic outlook to kick off the RVIA Membership Meeting at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 2. In his role at Wells Fargo, Alemán forecasts national, regional and international economic trends with his primary focus centering on the United States economy and the global economy.

His expert economic commentary has appeared in national publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Post and USA Today, as well as many national and international media outlets including the Associated Press, Reuters, and Bloomberg News. Alemán earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Universidad Del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina; an M.B.A. with a concentration in marketing from the Inter-American University in Puerto Rico; and an M.A. and doctorate in economics with an emphasis in economic development and international trade and finance from Florida International University.

The innovative futurist Mike Walsh will put a cap on an insightful day of informative sessions with his talk at 2 p.m. as the final speaker on March 2. As CEO of Tomorrow, a global consultancy on designing business for the 21st century and consumer innovation research lab, he advises leaders on how to thrive in this era of disruptive technological change. His clients include many of the global Fortune 500 companies.

Walsh previously founded Jupiter Research in Australia, and has also held senior strategy roles at News Corporation in the Asia Pacific Region. He is currently a board member and strategic investor in the North Alliance, Scandinavia’s leading digital marketing group. Walsh's best-selling book “FUTURETAINMENT” was the winner of the design award by the Art Director’s Club in New York.

Formerly known as the Annual Meeting, RVIA’s RV Leadership Conference is a members-only forum for RV industry leaders looking for expanded and impactful networking and educational opportunities. It is designed to encourage both top level management as well as the next generation of leaders to attend.

The event opens on Wednesday, March 1, with meetings of RVIA’s Executive Committee from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Board of Directors from 12-6 p.m. A gala Welcome Reception for all attendees is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m.

RV Leadership Day on Thursday, March 2, will be the central day of the event. RVIA’s Membership Meeting takes place from 7:45 - 10:30 a.m., featuring Alemán’s talk; a session from Scott Bahr from Cairn Consulting on a recent survey of RVIA members’ thoughts on association activities; reports on RVIA programs and services; and the presentation of RVIA’s annual awards.

The morning concludes with a session from Charles Payne, founder and CEO of Wall Street Strategies. He is widely recognized as a thought leader on stock markets and politics and is the best-selling author of “Be Smart, Act Fast, Get Rich.” He hosts “Making Money with Charles Payne” daily on the Fox Business Network and can also be seen on “Varney & Co.,” “Cavuto on Business” and “Your World.”
