RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Winnebago Appoints John Murabito to Board of Directors

145762292526352.jpgFOREST CITY, Iowa - Winnebago Industries, Inc. has announced the appointment of John Murabito to its Board of Directors, effective April 1. Murabito will also sit on the Human Resources Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee of the Board.

Murabito is the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Cigna Corporation, a global health insurance company with 2016 annual revenues of about $39 billion. Other roles Murabito has held include Chief Human Resources Officer at Monsanto Company and Group Vice President, Human Resources for Frito-Lay, Inc., a division of PepsiCo.

"We welcome Mr. Murabito to the Board and look forward to the insight he will provide to further our newly refreshed vision for Winnebago Industries," Winnebago President and CEO Michael Happe says. "John is a highly accomplished global executive and will certainly provide valued counsel as to how Winnebago can strengthen its overall talent management processes, leverage our well-known brands in the marketplace and profitably drive growth across an increasingly diverse portfolio."

Murabito received an M.A. in Industrial Relations from the University of Iowa and a B.A. in Economics from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.
