ELKHART, Indiana — One of the best examples of how RV industry suppliers are contributing to — and benefiting from — the RV arena’s ongoing, seven-year growth spurt is Elkhart-based Genesis Products.
The 525-employee, seven-facility firm, which specializes in laminated panels and interior components, is launching construction in March of a 200,000-square-foot corporate center on the southwest side of Goshen, according to a story by the Goshen News.
An OEM-exclusive supplier, Genesis derives about 75 percent of its annual revenues from the RV sector and the rest from kitchen cabinets, residential furniture and retail and office furniture clients. Although the bulk of its annual production is still comprised of wood, plywood or particle board components, Genesis has extended its reach in the last couple of years into custom-designed nonwood composites and molded and panel products due in part to its 2015 acquisition of Wellformed Materials, an Elkhart firm utilizing a proprietary forming and molding process to transform raw materials into custom molded composite, fiber-based products.
