TUCSON, Arizona - Staff and members of Escapees RV Club are arriving in Tucson this week ahead of the 57th Escapade. This event is the biggest of Escapees’ yearly lineup, with more than 800 rigs expected to arrive by Monday, March 20, plus many more walk-ins and one-day visitors.
The event opened on the 16th with RVers’ Boot Camp. This three day pre-event is focused on teaching RVers about safety, maintenance and operation of their rig, with courses ranging from choosing the right RV to safely handling a blow-out. On Sunday, Escapade kicks off with opening ceremonies, welcoming attendees to the fun- and education-filled week ahead, according to a press release.
Monday through Thursday are packed with seminars from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., nightly entertainment and countless socials scattered throughout the fairgrounds. Friday’s hitch-up breakfast offers members a chance to share a last hug or ‘see you down the road’ before setting off for their next destination.
On Wednesday, March 22, Escapade welcomes the local community to join the festivities. As a thank-you to the community for welcoming members, area residents are invited to visit from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. to learn more about the club and living the RV lifestyle. Guests may participate in the seminars, craft show-and-sell and peruse the wide selection of RV-related products available in the exhibitor and market areas. In keeping with the Escapees motto of “caring and sharing,” the club will support the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona with a food and essential needs collection.
There are many exciting firsts for this year’s Escapade. The daily line dancing class is joined by a new Zumba class, offering members more energetic ways to start the day. To help members plan their day and navigate the fairgrounds, Escapees now offers an event app specifically for Escapade. This app contains digital copies of the maps for the event, interactive schedules of seminars and socials, plus networking tools to help members stay in touch.
