RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Spartan Motors Honors Suppliers During Annual Supplier Conference

149063066027840.jpgCHARLOTTE, Michigan - Spartan Motors, Inc. has named St. Paul, Minnesota-based Waterous as its Supplier of the Year. Additionally, Spartan recognized 12 suppliers with Spartan Diamond awards and nine others earned Honorable Mention recognitions as part of Spartan's Annual Supplier Conference, held March 9, at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center, in Charlotte, Michigan. A full list of award recipients follows below.

Spartan's Annual Supplier Conference brings together more than 125 suppliers supporting its various business markets, including fleet and delivery, recreational vehicle, emergency response, defense forces and contract assembly. The conference, now in its 15th year, serves as a celebration of manufacturing excellence, as well as a platform for Spartan Motors' evolution, as the company grows through acquisition and internal integration.

"We've put significant energy into building the very best talent across our organization, and we are diligent in recognizing and celebrating success at every level of our company," Spartan Motors President and CEO Daryl Adams says. "This annual conference extends that effort to our supplier network. We're proud to honor this hardworking group, as well as take the time to share best practices and promote collaboration among our key partners."

This year's Spartan Supplier of the Year winner, Waterous, serves Spartan's Emergency Response business unit with pumps, power take-offs and valves for its Spartan and Smeal branded fire apparatus.
