RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Freightliner Purchases 25-Acre Tract for New Logistics Center

145330987783522.pngDaimler Freightliner of Gaffney, South Carolina has purchased a 25.75-acre tract for its new 200,000-square-foot logistics center in Cherokee County, according to Lyons Industrial Properties of Spartanburg, which negotiated the deal.

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. employs more than 650 people and the new facility will accommodate its growing operations, according to Bobby Lyons of Lyons Industrial Properties.

A groundbreaking is planned for mid-April, he said, according to a story by Goup State.

Last year, Daimler Trucks North America announced a $22.7 million investment in the Freightliner Chassis Corp. for the new logistics center, and for expansions of the employee parking lot and completed chassis parking and loading-deliver operations.
