RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

REV Group Acquires Midwest Automotive Designs Corp.

145271033345802.pngThe REV Recreation Group has acquired the Elkhart, Indiana-based Midwest Automotive Designs Corporation.

Midwest is a custom van upfitter that develops luxury vans for end segments, including motorhomes, shuttle vans, limousines and customized executive transportation vehicles.

Midwest Automotive Designs Corp. will join the group of REV brands, which also include American Coach, Monaco Coach, Holiday Rambler, Fleetwood RV and Renegade RV.

"For REV Group, this acquisition is a great opportunity for us to accelerate our growth in the Class B motorized RV segment as well as multiple products for the Limousine, Charter and Tour markets," REV Group President Jim Jacobs said in a press release.

Midwest will continue to operate from its existing facilities in Elkhart, Indiana and be managed by the same leadership team.

"We have complete confidence that this move will enhance REV Recreation and Bus Groups’ competitive positioning in the marketplace, and, more importantly, provide you a wider product selection with the same build quality, performance and reliability that you are used to," Jacobs says.
