RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Freightliner Announces $100,000 Donation to School Districts

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. and parent company Daimler Trucks North America announced a donation of $100,000 to support Cherokee County School District as part of the DaimlerCares Program. The donation will support the school district’s Project Lead the Way program, which prepares dozens of district high school students for careers and/or secondary education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs.

“Project Lead the Way is an important and exciting initiative aimed at developing the next generation of STEM leaders for our county, our state and our country,” FCCC President David Carson says. "We are excited to support the program, the district and its students.”

CCSD will use the donation to purchase computers, software and other key resources as Project Lead the Way plans to relocate to the district’s new career center when it opens for the 2018-19 school year, according to a story by Fleet Equipment Magazine.
